12/22 Weekly Wrap-Up – Found More Great Stuff This Week!

So… this week has been a mixed bag. One one hand, the world didn’t end. On another, we still don’t quite know what’s up with my back. On the bright side, it stops hurting when I take pain meds which is a giant leap from when they gave me the pain medicine the first time. I’ve been resting and trying to recover. I’ve done a little work but not much since the doc said to rest and I can’t type very well laying down anyways. I have done a nice bit of reading though! Here is this week’s weekly wrap-up.

I tried to include a few new people along with some of the ones we saw last week. One of my goals is to keep branching out and finding new great blogs so I can include more different people here.

Are you a people pleaser? Learn how to stretch yourself! – For a lot of people it’s really hard to truly be honest about how you feel when you are blogging, commenting, or whatever. The idea of backlash when voicing a contrary opinion or even telling people how you stand on a controversial topic is intimidating. The thing is, it’s also how people get to know the real you. Great post Kim!

Do You Allow Others to Shape Your Believes? – This one is kind of in the same vein. Tiffany writes about how important it is to pave your own way rather than just following the crowd. That’s what makes your business unique and great – breaking away from the crowd!

Is Consistency a Challenge? – Minna’s post really made me think about my own consistency and what I can do to keep my blogs updated without feeling overwhelmed. You’ll see us discussing it a bit in the comments. Consistency isn’t just about posting everyday or posting every other day. There is more to it than that and Minna does a great job helping you understand that.

How to Find Your Target Buyers – I read this post having a pretty good idea of who my target audience is, but it still got me thinking. It’s easy to end up with an unspecific target audience and that can hurt you! You want to know who you are writing for. Thanks Bonnie!

Progress and Being in the Moment – This is a great message from Lisa Stoops. Sometimes you do need to put your business aside. No matter how bad you need the money or how much you want to progress, don’t let it stop you from taking time to live in the moment and enjoy your friends and family!

That’s it for this week! If you read through these and are still looking for great posts to read, check out this list Tiffany Dow posted of 21 blogs she recommends checking out! (Mine was one of them which is super exciting.) You can also check out my weekly wrap-up on SquidsPro where I showcased some great posts that Squidoo members should check out.

Are there any posts that you think should have made the list that didn’t? Did you enjoy the ones that did make the list? Let me know in the comments!

  1. As always Amanda some good make you think, examine and act posts up there. Glad I was able to help with some of that this week.

A post that got me thinking this week was from Chris Brogan. It’s at http://www.chrisbrogan.com/choice/

So glad the pain meds are working now and hopefully you’ll find the pain source and the cure soon.

  2. Sorry to hear about your back! Mine’s been playing up lately and it can really affect you big time! I do have to take pain med nearly everyday, which isn’t good! As for typing in bed, not a good idea indeed! Have you tried longhand? I’ve recently found out that writing longhand relieves me of the “writing block”! There is no distraction either since notepads have no internet connection! I used to absolutely hate writing longhand and now I love it and am much more productive! Hope your back gets better soon and wish you a merry Xmas and happy new year!

  3. Hi Amanda,

I hope Christmas went well for you and your back didn’t keep you from enjoying the holiday!

Thanks for the mention up there… I appreciate it!

How do you go about writing up your round up? Do you add posts to a specific page as you read/find them? I’ve been thinking of doing something similar but unsure as to the best way of laying it all out.

Today I am doing my Part 2 review of John Chow. I will have it up shortly. I did 10 Squidoo layouts over the holiday weekend and hopefully can write the content portion to make them all go live by the end of next week.

I know this week is already a wash. :L) Get well sweetie!

  4. My blog has really been lacking the last 6 months or so. I used to post daily, now it’s a couple 3 times a week, with days in between sometimes.
I hope to get back into the swing of things for 2013.
