Is Your Online Business the Golf Ball or Pebble?

I’m on this social media site called Tumblr and I came across a post that made me think. It’s kind of on topic with the life balancing I’ve been doing lately.

tumblr_mc2fhkfwgw1qa9c27o1_1280A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

How to Find Blog Post and Article Topic Ideas

I-have-an-ideaToday my main task is to work on a new article pack for PLR Content Market and as I sat down to pick out my article topics I thought the process I use to pick topics might be helpful to bloggers, writers, and PLR providers. So, today’s blog post is a step-by-step of me doing my research and deciding what my articles will be about.

Okay, so the topic for this pack is paper shredders. It was requested by a particular buyer and I’m not sure how much interest there is for it, but he’s a long time customer so I figured I’d take the time to put it together for him.

3 Things That Will Make Me Hate Your Info Product

ebooksIt seems like every day without fail someone emails me asking me to review their product. I don’t mind it, really. In fact, a lot of the time I enjoy reviewing or at least looking over people’s products. Of course, that’s only when the person seems to genuinely want my opinion and isn’t just spamming everyone they can find with the request.

Just a tip, if you need someone to review your new article spinner, you’re wasting your time emailing someone who is consistently voicing their disdain for article spinners. If you’re trying to find someone to try out your new black hat Adsense method, maybe emailing someone who prides herself in using ethical marketing methods isn’t the right person to ask.

3 Tips for Getting Back on Track With Your Blog or Online Business

Many of you know I’ve been rather ill lately. I think my headache when on for nearly five days non-stop. I had a fever off and on in there and horrible body aches. It was no fun at all. It was a lot of sleeping and watching Doctor Who on Netflix. (I’m part way through season 2 now.) Now I’ve finally spoken to the doctor and I’m feeling so much better.

Unfortunately I fell pretty behind and when you’ve gotten used to not working it can be really hard to get back into the habit. I’m working on it and wanted to share three things I’m doing to get back on track.

3 Tips for Earning Halloween Commissions

12079_wpm_lowresI just released a big niche pack of stuff for creating a Halloween niche site. It includes PLR articles, graphics, themes, and a bunch of other stuff. (Click here if you want to check it out.)

Whenever I release a big pack I get people asking exactly how to make use of it to make money. With this particular pack, it’s all about setting up a Halloween site to sell costumes, decorations, or Halloween related ebooks. The pack has the themes, the report to build your list, and tons of content to get your site in working order quickly.

9 Free Must Have WordPress Plugins For New Blog Owners

pluginsSo, you’ve just started your very first self-hosted blog. (If you’re not quite there yet, check out this tutorial.) Now you need to figure out what to do with your fresh WordPress installation.

The main things you’re going to want to think about (besides the content itself) are:

  • Your WP settings.
  • Your theme.
  • Your plugins.
  • Your widgets.

I’ll be covering all of this over the next few days, but first I’m going to share a list of plugins I install on every single WordPress installation I set up (unless I end up getting a paid alternative) and they’re all free.

Steps for Setting Up Your First Self-Hosted Blog

blogI’ve been connecting with a lot of bloggers using Blogger, Weebly, and sites like that to start their blog. I myself started on Blogger. The thing is, a lot of these people are also realizing it’s not too safe to fully depend on a 3rd party website. If you’re going to get serious about making money online, it’s just smarter to set up a self-hosted website.

The main reasons people don’t are:

  • They’re worried it’ll be too complicated.
  • They’re worried it’ll cost too much.

Using Social Media to Promote Amazon Review Sites

socialmediaI’ve been discussing my newest Amazon review site, Smooth Blenders, with you guys off and on and I’ve mentioned most of my traffic comes through social networking and shares. It’s coming from Facebook (a little bit) and Pinterest (most of it). Honestly, the Pinterest traffic isn’t really from my own pin, it’s through other people pinning.

I got quite a few emails asking how I was getting traffic to a review site from social media. Quite a few people said they tried it but it didn’t work. Well, I’m going to give you a tip that will hopefully change the way you think of review sites and social media.

5 Tips for Emailing Potential Affiliates

iStock_000016463161Large1-1024x768Between my big video game PLR release and my upcoming Azon Review Blueprint (yes, I picked a name!) release I’ve been doing a fair bit of emailing. (If I haven’t gotten to you and you were hoping to promote either of the offers you may still be further down my list or I missed you so feel free to use my contact form to get in touch.)

Emailing potential affiliates can be very intimidating. Some of the things that were going through my mind as I got started…

  • What if they hate my product and don’t promote it because it’s bad?

Freelancers: Put Your Skills to Use! (And a Bit of My Story)

It may start out feeling like a juggling act, but it gets easier!

It may start out feeling like a juggling act, but it gets easier!

Yesterday I posted a little blurb on my Facebook page about this is a message that needs to be spread far and wide.

I’ll go ahead and quote the post for you.

“When I was mainly a freelance writing I remember my clients would come back all of the time asking for more Amazon reviews. I had a lot of repeat clients but the ones that wanted review articles came back over and over again, often times offering to pay more if I would move them up higher than my other clients.
