Sunday Vlog 4/21 – Health Update

I was getting a little emotional during the video so I went a bit monotone. Sorry about that. I’m trying to power through and just focus on what I need to get the PCOS under control and it’s been a bit of an emotional roller coaster.

I’ve been staying pretty well caught up on work. I’m brainstorming ideas for the product I’ll release during Tiffany Dow’s product creation challenge.

I was in a serious need for a break where I just wrote about something fun so I went over to Squidoo and noticed that the IMMINENT quest was called “Time Machine” and you were supposed to write about something from your favorite decade. This is what I came up with:

Will Pogs Ever Make a Comeback?

It was a lot of fun to write and I got a purple start which was awesome!

I’ve got a few doctor appointments this week so I’ll keep you up to date on what I learn.

If you did a Sunday vlog, feel free to leave a link in the comments.

  1. Hi Amanda

Sorry to hear about your health issues. Hope you get it all under control soon. It can be hard powering through whilst dealing with such emotional issues.

    Take care

    xoxo

    • It’s one of those things that doesn’t go away but through dietary changes (and sometimes medication) I can minimize the symptoms. Basically I need to lose more weight because I actually eat a lot better than the diet sheet the doctor gave me says I need to. When the doctors told me I had pre-diabetes and then my fiane got diabetes we started watching carbs and working out regularly.

  2. Best wishes for your doctor’s visits next week. I hope you get the best possible results. And congratulations on your purple star for your lens!

  3. You’re a tough cookie – you’ll beat that PCOS into submission! 🙂 Hard news to hear, I know, but you’ll power through I know it 🙂

    Hang in there my friend!

    • At this point I’m just realizing that it answers a lot of questions. I never understood why I gained so much weight when I was little even though I played sports and was active. I was 8 when I started gaining extra weight and know I finally know that it wasn’t just me. The doctors all told my mom I was either lazy or was sneaking snacks when she wasn’t looking and it was really hurtful to hear but they never wanted to look any deeper to see if something else could be causing the weight gain.

  4. First of all…sending major hugs…PCOS is rough but treatable…my sis in law suffered from it but now has two lovely kiddos, so hang in there! Second, Pogs were awesome! I think my sister still has some tucked away somewhere, lol! Sending good thoughts and well wishes your way…hope you get some good answers soon!

  5. Sorry to hear about the health issues. I hope you get good news from your doctor.

Great video – I heard of pogs but I think it was popular a few years after I had already left school.

  6. Hey there Amanda, Sorry to hear about the health stuff but the very best thing you can do is to relax about it, even though it’s easier said than done. I was told by 3 different gynecologists that I’d never get pregnant because I wasn’t ovulating. For me that was ok because I hadn’t planned to have kids anyway (of course that also kept me from worrying)… One day before I went to the final gyne about the testing they were doing (that they also said showed I wasn’t ovulating), I’d gone to my regular doctor about a sinus infection and walked out of there with a positive pregnancy test (my son just turned 27 in March). And in case you missed the comment over at Tiff’s, there are a lot of stories like that… they don’t get pregnant till the worry stops. 🙂

    Hang in there!

    • I know right now nothing will happen until the hormones get under control so I’m just focusing on that. I don’t need to think about getting pregnant right now, just focus on getting healthy.
