The Keys to Content Creation

I’ve been a writer since I began my online marketing adventure. I learned very early how important good content is if you want a successful website. Since I started getting more into marketing myself rather than just writing for others, I noticed a lot of people really struggle when it comes to creating good content.

It seems people ask me the same questions everyday, and many of them are about writing articles, coming up with ideas for articles, or figuring out if content is actually worth using.

I came across this infographic that I thought covered a lot of information that would help you guys when it comes to getting in the right mindset to create good content.

Just click on it to see the infographic in full size.

I often find that once I sit down and actually get in the mood to write, I can crank out more high quality content with more passion in a much shorter amount of time. For me, the key is to get in a writing mood.

In the comments below:

Look over the infographic and and let me know a few things.

1. What do you struggle with most with writing?

2. What techniques do YOU use to create better content?

3. What do you think of the infographic? I have been thinking of sharing more, but I’m wondering if you find infographics to be useful ways to display information.

  1. I realized that the one thing about the internet is the content you provide to your following. “Content is king” I feel that this is one of the most important thing for freelancers, bloggers and webmasters. The one thing I struggle the most when writing is not having enough to say sometimes. I feel I run out of research and things to talk about. Some things I try to do when creating good content is by researching the topic inside and out. Doing a basic google search isn`t going to do it for creating good content. Instead, I go around the web, libraries if I need to in order to get what I need to complete the task. I love inforgraphics, I think it`s so attractive and can really make things go viral. If it`s a well thought out poster/inforgraphic it is going to go far, and a lot of people are going to enjoy it! Those are all my opinions on this topic! Great post!

  2. I agree with Tony. Too many people call a Google search research. That might get you started, but you need to crack a book or journal open.

    Excellent infographic BTW!

    • A Google search is good if you already know about the topic and are trying to get a little bit of extra information or refresh your memory, but you need to spend time doing your research.

When I go to write a 5 article pack for my PLR site, I spend TONS of time doing my research. I don’t just do a Google search, I look at big niche forums and blogs to see what problems people are having and what questions people are asking. I look for real experts talking about the subject.

More than once now I’ve had to go to the library when writing for clients or my PLR. Nothing like a good reference book to really prime your knowledge. Of course this is the EXACT reason I can’t charge the $0.01 per word a lot of people think writers are worth. I take pride in what I do and I spend a lot of time getting ready to actually put the words on paper.

Luckily for us, the people that understand how important research is, the Internet is starting to DEMAND higher quality content.
