Vlog #11: Brainstorming Together Gets the Creative Juices Flowing!

I normally film sitting on my bed because it’s the easiest way to find somewhere quiet but today I was under my electric blanket with my laptop on an upside down laundry hamper and my mic sitting on the cat tree next to me. It was going okay but every time I moved it shook the basket and then the cats decided they needed to scratch right then! lol

Today is vlog #11 and I’m missing seeing the other participants vlog. More than that, it seems that most of the participants are slowing down on blogging in general either because they were tired from updating everyday during the challenge or because of the holidays. Either way, I check my folder of RSS feeds a few times a day and I miss seeing all of the new posts!

I had so much fun writing my new blog post, “What Can Spiderman Teach Us About Online Marketing?”. I’m a more than a bit of a geek so it’s always fun to show that side of me more. Head over and let me know what you think! I originally got the idea when reading the awesome times I’ve found in Blogging With John Chow.

After reading through part of the course I turned to Taylor and told him I had an idea but I needed to fill it in with more details. The first thing he said was, “You know, Spiderman does know a lot about the web.” I laughed so hard! Jokes like that always get me. We brainstormed together and I was able to come up with more ideas myself because I was discussing it with him, plus he was able to tell me when one of my ideas was dumb. lol

I finally got tired of WAITING to work on my video game blog. The anticipation was killing me. It paid off! I have posted up two blog posts so far and I already made an affiliate sale from a video game review. Check out the site for yourself.

Mem Sucks at Games

(Mem is short for Memimi, my username on an online RPG I used to play. The name stuck and even my fiance calls me “Mem”.)

As for the 2013 planning challenge, I’m happy to say I’m still caught up on it! I haven’t missed a day yet. Today was talking to the designer about graphics and it was a hassle like always because I never know what I want.

Today I also went to work on some Zujava leaves as part of a little contest they are having. If you create 10 gift guides this month you get a free mug and I love mugs! While I was there I was super happy to notice Tiffany Dow on the online members and see her tweeting about it! I love Zujava. It’s like a smaller Squidoo. The tier payouts are a lot smaller but you get a tier payment for EVERY leaf and you can add Amazon products like with Squidoo.

Oh, one thing I didn’t mention in the vlog!

My PLR shop is officially going to be fixed this evening. My tech guy says he’ll have it ready and I’ll be posting up a total of 7 new PLR packs to get caught up with the 31 days of PLR. As a bit of an apology to all of those who were expecting new PLR each day I’ll also be sending out a coupon code for customers to get 50% off of everything in the store. Affiliates will get an email about it soon and everyone else will get an email as soon as the packs are up.

PLR Content Market

That’s it for now!

Do you prefer to brainstorm alone or does it help to have someone to talk things out with? And for you vloggers, even if you aren’t vlogging go ahead and leave a comment letting me know how things have been going. I miss your faces!

  1. Loved the Spiderman blog Amanda – love seeing people put what they learn into action!

  2. I like that you keep it real. I tried Zujava and they said my articles were too ‘commercial’. Whatever, I published them on Squidoo but I may give Zujava another try.

    • They are okay with you publishing stuff that is a bit more commercial after you get out of the Petting Zu. First they want to make sure you can write quality stuff.

Thanks for checking out the blog! Glad you like it.

  3. HI Amanda,

I brainstorm alone – most times, but if there is a brainstorming session that I need to flush out a little more, I ask the partner for his input or talk to my gaming friends. ROFL

You would be surprised, how my male gaming friends helped me come up with ideas for Squidoo lenses. LOL I can’t wait to implement them!

I said the same thing to Tiffany in email this morning – I find that I AM MISSING all the vloggers. They seemed to have gone POOF! So… I’m going to fire the camera back up and start my vlogging again – so you don’t have to go through this journey alone.

    Would you like that?

  4. I think brainstorming ideas together is better than doing it alone. Two heads are better than one.

I like the spider man funny web comment. I laughed. Your kitty is so cute scratching.

  5. Hey Amanda can I join your brainstorming session over skype? Is it okay to add you as well (once I know how to use skype. LOL.)
