Hey everyone. I hope you guys had a great holiday! My back is still in poor shape. I still don’t know what’s wrong. I’ve finally figured out how to manage the pain. Ibuprofen, a heat pack, and laying on my new mattress helps. I’ve got an appointment for the 2nd and hopefully we’ll figure everything out then.
I’m glad that I work online and can get away with taking this time off to let my back heal. I can’t wait to get back to work though. I’ve got so many ideas! I’ve been keeping a notebook by the bed to write them down as they come to me and I’ve been reading some of the copywriting and marketing books from my shelf. Even if my 2013 start ends up being late because of my back, I’m super optimistic about how things will go!
Speaking of 2013, I know a lot f you plan to get more into Squidoo through the next year. Over on SquidsPro I’m hosting a lensmaking challenge where we’ll make one lens a week and share them on weekly check-in posts. We’ll be giving prizes to people who can stick with it to reach milestones and we’ll be having mini challenges throughout the year for people who need an extra push. We have shirts, mousepads, cups, and gift cards ready!
I’ve also been finding and reading more great blogs. Earlier I was browsing Visual.ly and found an infographic I wanted to share with you guys about New Year’s Resolutions. I didn’t really set one this year, instead I just mapped out my goals.
I’ll be sticking to my “getting healthy” plan though workouts are cut until I’m cleared by a doctor. I’ve also come up with some new guidelines along with Taylor to make 2013 more productive. He’s suffering from a lack of structure and it’s making it hard for him to keep up with his writing projects so we’re setting “office hours” for January where it’ll be a work only zone and we’ll see how that goes. We also created daily task lists for things that need to be done each day. At the end of January we’ll re-assess our plan.
Here is the infographic.
It’s honestly no surprise to me that most people give up on their resolutions so fast. Most people come up with a New Year’s resolution like “I’m going to lose weight.” They don’t plan out how or create specific goals. That’s the key! You need to have a plan and break down your goal into manageable bites. Then you need to hold yourself accountable and be ready to work to achieve the things you want.
Do you have a New Year’s Resolution? Do you have a plan for reaching your 2013 goals in place?
