You Don’t Need to Be an Expert to Be a Blogger

Hey guys! I was talking to a friend who is working hard on a newer blog and he’s been asking me what he’s supposed to do since he’s not an expert in the niche. It’s a niche he’s passionate about but he’s still learning.

This is a message for him as well as any of you who struggle with this. I know I did for a while… It’s easy to feel like you’re supposed to have all of the answers but sometimes having questions is even better.

  1. Not knowing can be part of your “voice” too, in a “let´s experiment with this” way. ANy topic you choose you will know more than some and less than some. As you say, be yourself and enjoy the ride. 🙂

  3. I’ve done this many times – revealing that I didn’t know how to do something. If I don’t know the answer, I’ll either direct them to someone who can help or I’ll do my best to learn the answer myself so I can share it with others.

Like you, I don’t think it’s necessary to FAKE it till you make it. I so hate that phrase!

    • Oh, I hate that too. I don’t want to follow a fake, I want to follow someone who is real. I’d rather follow a newbie who is real than a fake who claims to earn millions.

  4. I agree that you can learn so much from someone who is going through the process of learning themselves. It means that you know that they don’t have all the answers. This can be helpful because you can feel comfortable asking questions that you may fear a ultra professional would scoff at.

Someone learning as they go can be more willing to explore the answer that is being sought.

You can definitely learn a lot from other people’s trials and errors.

    • All of the bloggers I follow haven’t reached their “goal point” yet. They’re all still working their way there and I like being able to watch them learn and learn from their struggles. It helps create community as well.
